The Venue

The ceremony and reception will be held at the historic Bates House at Frank Mellville Park.

No! Not this Bates House!

The Bates House, a 1922 Colonial Revival-style house and formerly a private residence, is now part of the Frank Melville Memorial Park in Setauket, New York (click link for park map).

While the house itself will be closed until 6:00 pm for setup, the full grounds of the house and park will be available to wedding attendees. Feel free to come early and enjoy the beauty of the setting, hopefully bypassing the beauty of Long Island rush hour traffic.

Please be aware it is a popular dog walking spot and may be unpaved at parts, if you do come early to meander the grounds plan your footwear (or a change of footwear) accordingly.

Located at the northern end of the two ponds in Setauket, the park of twenty-four acres includes a circular walkway around the upper pond, the home of the last miller in Setauket, a simulated mill house with a working water wheel, the recently restored Setauket Post Office, a barn, scenic trails, and of course the Bates House, where the ceremony and reception will occur.
